Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is the cleaner India mission Launched by the Modi Government. The aim of this mission is to make every city and town in India clean and tidy. With the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, the first goal of the mission was to make people aware of their surroundings and the problems that the waste materials were making. There are humongous costs involved, of course, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan in Urban areas has been planned for over 1.04 Crore households in a span of a mere five years. It includes installing better systems for management of the huge amounts of waste that is disposed of every day.
There have been provisions made for Indian railways by the setup of bio-toilets in a number of trains. And automatic cleaning of the blankets and the sheets have started so that better cleaning is possible.
The prime objectives that have been set by the government in the urban areas are complete removal of open defecation and building good and sanitary public toilets which can flush, removing manual scavenging, and bring a change in the behavior of the citizens of India about the cleanliness in the surroundings. This will help in improving the quality of life for the people living in the rural areas of India. This will bring down the rate of people falling sick in the rural areas and not being able to work and earn money for their families. Public toilets are being installed so that people who don’t have access to toilets in their homes don’t have to go anywhere else now.

It’s not a separate entire tax rate, but it is included in the service tax as the 0.5 percent. So that people also contribute to this mission of a clean and better India.

The overall GDP also gets affected due to this as now people who were getting sick due to unsanitary conditions earlier are now fit and healthy and ready to work more and more; impacting the economy of India positively. It increases the awareness of the importance of cleanliness amongst the group of people who were ignorant of it earlier. Therefore, it should not be the responsibility of only ministries and the government but also of every citizen living in India and utilizing its resources. And Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan has successfully managed to do just that. It has already shown a lot of positive results and should not just be ended in a period of five years, but should be carried on for more and more years.
